Physical Appearance:
Sterling is sharp lines, and softened edges. She holds herself with confidence, and one might think her to be stronger and taller then she is. She tough and sturdy, with a freckled face and tangled red hair. She’s spent long days sailing under the hot sun, and dresses for practically, not fashion. Her clothes are patched, and easy to move in. She often wears dresses or skirts, but has been seen in men’s clothing from time to time as it is easier to fight in. She has several weapons on her person at all times.

Personality:
Sterling is bold and confident, with great responsibilities resting on her shoulders. She can be impatient at times, but will assume a calm and commanding demeanor around her crew. She is fiercely loyal, and very independent. Sterling has a love of adventure and excitement, a restless quality she’s had since she was a child; she could never settle down.

Background

Life before Piracy:
The sand pirates that dwell near Daingerfield live by their own rules and follow their own code. Most of their days are spent aboard their ships, though they do have several land settlements. Being nomadic these settlements are easily moved. What they don't have they take, pirating goods from passing ships, trains and local ranches. Some sand pirates seek treasure, while others seek only what they need to survive.

Sterling was born and raised among the pirates and has known no other life. Her real name is known by only a select few, but to most she is simply known as Sterling. Where this name came they can no longer remember, but to call her anything else just seems strange.

How did they come to Piracy:
Sterling was born into piracy, the daughter of the previous captain, his second child, she was taught in their ways from a young age. She was a natural with a gun, and took eagerly to piloting the sandboat. Upon the Captain’s death the crew voted her, and not her brother, to be the new Captain of the S.S. Rapparee.

Surviving Piracy:
Sterling has been Captain for six years, and they have been sticking close to Daingerfield under her command. She and Edric Bell have had it out many times and she seems unwilling to leave without settling it once and for all.
